3KEYTOUCH™ — GlassTop Touch Screen Simulators

Hard panel realism at a fraction of the cost

3KEYTOUCH™ provides an experience closely replicating that of hard panel simulators — enabling instructors and students to perform plant evolutions, refresher training, and procedure V&V on touch-enabled control room panels without the expense of a full hard panel build.

System Hardware

A Single 3KEYTOUCH™ Simulator — Standard Configuration

A single 3KEYTOUCH™ simulator consists of a structure replicating a typical main control room panel, with touch-enabled LCDs on the lower sections and a non-touch LCD on the annunciator section. Panel graphics allow direct interaction with simulation models via fingertip touch, with Windows multi-touch gesturing (zoom and pan) and voice-activated navigation commands.

🖥️2 × 46" Touch LCDs (lower)
📟1 × 46" Annunciator LCD
👆Optical Touch overlays
🗣️Voice Navigation commands
🔍 Zoom & pan Windows multi-touch gesturing for easy navigation across panel graphics — pinch to zoom, swipe to pan.
🌐 Worldview WSC's Worldview concept shows general unit status including any alarming on any panel in the control room — one touch jumps to any panel section.
🔗 Panel navigation Touch screens allow easy navigation from one panel to another — seamlessly moving between control room sections.
⚡Live simulation interaction Panel graphics on the lower LCDs allow direct interaction between control room devices and simulation models with a fingertip.
Training Capability

What You Can Do Without a Hard Panel Simulator

Instructors and students can perform a full assortment of tasks on the 3KEYTOUCH™ simulator — including individual self-paced lessons with the 3KEYITS™ product for Job Performance Measures (JPM), without ever needing a traditional hard panel simulator.

Tasks supported:
Plant startup & shutdown Accident scenario practice Refresher training — abnormal operations Self-paced JPM lessons (3KEYITS™) Individual training Group training Simulation model change testing Panel graphics testing Instrumentation modification testing Standard procedure V&V Emergency procedure V&V
Case Study

CRGTS — Control Room GlassTop Simulator

Duke Energy's H.B. Robinson Nuclear Power Plant contracted WSC to provide a Control Room GlassTop Simulator (CRGTS) — a full-scale touch-sensitive replication of the entire control room — to train operators on a new distributed control system (DCS) prior to plant implementation.

Duke Energy — H.B. Robinson Nuclear Power Plant
15 linked glasstop panels — a complete full-scale control room representation

Glasstop touch-sensitive panels are installed into real control room panels to digitally display the analog control boards. Multiple monitor sizes (10" to 46") match actual panel sizes and angles — including bench boards and annunciator sections. DCS areas use the exact same monitors, touch pads, and keyboards as the live plant. The simulation load is identical to the latest full-scope hard panel simulator release, including a virtual implementation of the turbine control DCS.
