WSC — Generic Training Simulators

Baseline plant knowledge at a fraction of the cost

Not every training problem requires a customized solution. WSC's generic simulator solutions provide operators and students with the baseline knowledge and familiarity essential to safely and efficiently manage a power plant — based on real operating units, completely tested and verified.

Platform & Deployment

Flexible Access — Anywhere in the World

Generic Training Simulators allow students to perform complete plant startups, shutdowns, and load maneuvers — and realistically replicate normal and abnormal plant transients including malfunction scenarios. They can be integrated with 3KEYSTUDENT™ and a Learning Management System (LMS) to track each student's progress through lessons.

Deployment options:
🖥️
Client / Server (LAN)

Installed at customer site using standard local area network technologies.

💻
Standalone

Models and HMI run on the same computer — no network infrastructure required.

🏫
Classroom

Multi-seat classroom environments with 3KEYCLASS instructor management.

🌐
Web-based

Access via Internet from anywhere in the world through a web-based simulator interface.

Target audience:
Newly formed regulatory agencies Universities Technical institutes Power plant operators Engineering students Company personnel

Generic Nuclear Simulator

Pressurized Light Water Reactor — GPWR

Generic PWR
Generic Simulator for Pressurized Light Water Reactors
Thermal power
3,983 MW
Electric power
1,400 MW
Turbine speed
3,000 rpm
Loops / SGs / Pumps
2 / 2 / 4
A Pressurized Light Water Reactor with two circulation loops, two vertical steam generators, and four reactor coolant transfer pumps. Steam generators supply steam to a turbine consisting of one high-pressure and three low-pressure cylinders. Condensate is pumped from three condensers through low-pressure heaters to two turbine-driven feedwater pumps, which supply feed flow through high-pressure heaters to the steam generators. Four moisture separator reheaters separate and reheat high-pressure turbine exhaust steam for the low-pressure turbines.
Over 75 graphic control screens — cold shutdown to full power operation
10,000 supervised points with alarm and event system for fault analysis
Full-featured trending system for supervision of single or multiple parameters
Full-featured Instructor Station capable of inserting hundreds of malfunctions
Generic VVER Simulator

VVER Gen III+ Nuclear Power Plant — GVVER

Generic VVER
VVER Type Generic Simulator for Gen III+ Nuclear Power Plants
Thermal power
~3,200 MW
Electric power
~1,200 MW
Turbine speed
3,000 rpm
Loops / SGs / Pumps
4 / 4 / 4
A Pressurized Light Water Reactor with four circulation loops, four horizontal steam generators, and four reactor coolant transfer pumps. Steam generators supply steam to a turbine consisting of one high-pressure and four low-pressure cylinders. Condensate is pumped from four condensers through low-pressure heaters to a deaerator and to five feedwater electric pumps, which supply feed flow through high-pressure heaters to the steam generators. Four moisture separator reheaters separate and reheat high-pressure turbine exhaust steam for the low-pressure turbines.
Over 140 graphic control screens — cold shutdown to full power and all transients
Includes Fukushima safety systems — post-Fukushima design features fully modeled
Full-featured trending system for supervision of single or multiple parameters
Full-featured Instructor Station capable of inserting hundreds of malfunctions
